What advantages does a Paperwhite e-reader have over a conventional LED screen tablet?

I have a friend who swears by his Kindle Paperwhite and says he prefers it to any other reading format, including tablets and actual print publications. What advantages over a conventional LED display tablet does the Paperwhite have?

It's easier on the eyes, and much better if you are trying to read in daylight. The Kindle Paperwhite screen is far easier to see in bright settings such as outdoors. Here are the reasons listed on Amazon's site:

"No screen glare in bright sunlight
Read with one hand—over 30% lighter than iPad mini
Battery lasts weeks, not hours
Next-gen built-in light—read without eyestrain"

There are a number of advantages to e-readers; They have no screen glare to speak of, which is a huge problem with most tablets when reading outside or even in some bright indoor environments. E-readers also have much better battery life than tablets, and generally lighter weight. The main drawback is lack of a built-in light with some models, and without lighting you can't read them in the dark. There are external lights available, and models with built-in lighting are common now.
