How to tell if SD card is good?

I realize that SD cards only have a finite number of read/write cycles, but is there any way to tell how much degradation has occurred? They have gotten so cheap that I don’t mind copying the data and replacing the SD cards occasionally, but they aren’t so cheap that I want to do that every X months.

You can try H2testW, which test for errors on flash memory on Windows machines by filling the target directory with test data and reading it back to verify. I think that you will have to use XP Mode if you are using Windows 7+ since this is a pretty old program. The only drawback, and it is a significant one, is that you could damage data if there are faults in the hardware found, so I suggest making a backup of any data prior to testing. I can't post a link to it because of the aggressive spam filter, but if you google it, you should be able to find it.
