Which company makes the most reliable laptop PCs?

Do any companies really make better, as in more reliable, laptops? I’m in the market for a PC, not a Mac, so “get a Mac” doesn’t help since it just isn't within the budget.

"Shopping for a laptop is a pretty daunting task. The sheer number of laptop systems available online or in a store's electronics section is enough to make your mind spin. Most people have a general idea of what their laptop should look like and what they want in terms of features, but are often intimidated by the choices available. That's where we come in, with the 10 best laptops on the market today."

Consumer Reports did a huge survey a couple of years ago, I think it was tens of thousands of owners surveyed. I recall that Asus did well, as did Toshiba. However, a Soluto report that used remote support app data from 150K+ laptops over a 3 month period shows an Acer E1-571 at number 2 (behind a MacBook Pro). My personal experience with Acer’s isn’t very good, so who knows. Also, in contrast to the Consumer Reports, er, report, Asus and Toshiba didn’t even crack the top 10. So who to believe? Honestly, I don’t know, but I have my doubts about the methodology of the Soluto report, because it is equating reliability with number of crashes, hangs, and boot times. I’m not sure that accurately reflects hardware reliability.
