How to limit bandwidth usage while streaming Netflix?

I have a ton of Netflix compatible devices that I use (tablet, smartphone, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PS3, laptop, desktop PC). Unfortunately my ISP has a 150Gb monthly data cap and they just increased my rate - thanks AT&T. Is there a way to limit bandwidth usage for the non-PC devices? I would love to be able to choose lower resolution and save some bandwidth.

"Manage Bandwidth Usage

If you are interested in setting a limit on how much data our service will use, you can adjust your video quality setting. Navigate to Netflix.com/VideoQuality to manage the amount of data you use when playing movies and TV shows on Netflix.

There are 4 data usage settings to choose from:

Low (uses up to 0.3 GB per hour)
Medium (uses up to 0.7 GB per hour)
High (uses up to 1 GB per hour, up to 2.8 GB per hour if watching HD, or up to 4.7 GB per hour if watching 3D)
Auto (adjusts itself automatically to deliver the highest possible quality, based on your current internet connection speed)

See our Internet Connection Speed Recommendations for more information about how fast your connection must be to stream in each quality level."

jimlynch thank you very much for the reply to this article as you have managed to save quite a few elderly people in my summer vacation area from boredom, everyone in the area uses the same isp and netflix wasn't working very well for most of them and well they all came to me for answers of which I had none until I went looking and found this article and now there are 20+ happy people in my area (or there will be tomorrow morning after I go from door to door to fix their netflix problems). I have tested this method out on my Aunt's netflix account and it's now working much better for her and she can load shows/movies that she never could before.
