Sure it is ok, but you are probably going to be looked at less favorably than someone with demonstrated Hadoop experience. Also, there are a range of Hadoop positions, and the requirements for a data architect are going to be quite different than those for a software developer. Since it sounds like you already have a couple of years experience working with relational databases, that should make it easier to get your foot in the door. I think it will be somewhat challenging to find something above a junior level software engineer position until you have hands-on experience with Hadoop implementation and operation.
