Well, users are likely to unlock mobile devices much more frequently than a laptop, and it's great to add a seamless layer of security where users might otherwise be tempted to not use a password at all I think it makes a lot of sense, especially with the growing ubiquity of BYOD. I suspect IT admins will be more pleased with this than a lot of consumers. It might not be truly revolutionary, but I think Apple was quite clever to add the feature.
