How to fix key that isn’t working on a laptop?

I got a refurbished Lenovo laptop recently, and one of the keys on the keyboard isn’t working. I blew it out with canned air, and there was almost nothing in there, so I don’t think it is a bit of dirt causing the issue. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem?

Number has the answer for this. If you can't get it to work, I'd contact Lenovo support and see if you can have it replaced. Nothing more frustrating than a key that doesn't work on a keyboard. Ugh.

Turn on the on-screen keyboard: (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Ease of Access > On Screen Keyboard)

If the key darkens when you press it on the keyboard then its physically working, if not, then it's not, then you know the problem is the actual keyboard, and not the driver or setting.

Also, go into your keyboard settings and make sure it is set to US layout, and if it is try changing it to US International or something else to see if that will work.
