Is there a way to get Wi-Fi password without root permissions?

(Android)

I've found how to do it with rooted devices, thanks to providers.

Now I'm working on an app, wanna display WiFi password as actual words instead of "*****" .

And it's for all users, among which are rooted and unrooted.

If you have any thoughts, whether works or not, please share with me,thank you!

Probably not, but good luck with your efforts.

I think you're right, in the next day I gave this thought up ...

I'm in China, rooted devices are more than unrooted ones around me, and rooting seems to be quite easy for most popular devices , so I might be gonna treat users differently

anyway, thank you for responding me!

I don't know how you would be able to do it without root access. You can't effectively use a file explorer to even find data, otherwise. I'm not an app developer, so I may be wrong. Good luck in your efforts, let us know if you succeed.  I suggest exploring this over at http://www.xda-developers.com/ where there are a lot of bright people that know more than I ever will about Android.

I looked into Wi-Fi API, and codes of a rewrite for it.

found out that password is packedup with SSID and other parameters , there's no password matching to fetch, and once a configuration is modified, it gets renewed ...

thank you for your responding!
