How to change default search engine on iPad?

My son was playing with my iPad and somehow switch the default search engine from Google to Yahoo!, and of course he has no idea how he did it. How can I change it back to Google?

Just disable Safari in your setting.

just figured it out. I wanted to change from yahoo to google, but safari would still load yahoo as a startpage. had to clear history and website data to make it work.

See the other answer for how to change it. Note though that you can only choose from Bing, Yahoo or Google. You can't add your own (as of iOS 6). Hopefully, this will change in the future.

It's easy, just click the SETTINGS icon > SAFARI > SEARCH ENGINE.  Choose the one you want from the limited selection. At least I think that's the way it works on an iPad, that's the way to do it on an iPhone and I think they are the same.
