How can I physically connect a keyboard to an Android phone?

I have an Android phone that is running 2.3 Gingerbread. Yeah, I know I'm kickin' it old school. I can seem to find a bluetooth keyboard that will work with it. I've seen USB keyboards for Android, but I can't seem to find one of those that is compatible for me either. Can I just get a USB keyboard and make it work?

Your best bet is to upgrade your phone. I doubt you'll be able to connect a physical keyboard to 2.3. There are lots of great phones out there, an upgrade will probably be much more enjoyable than your current one.

Yeah, I don't think most Bluetooth keyboards support 2.3 - it is 2 years old, after all. Freedom Input makes some that do...not sure of any other choices, but there are probably some out there.

Good luck getting USB keyboards to work on an Android device. IIRC, you can only do it with 4.0 or later, and even then, perhaps "try" is a better term than "do".  Finding a driver is often a challenge. I would probably go with a Bluetooth keyboard instead of fighting with USB if using an Android device running 4.0 or later, but you could get lucky.
