This is a great article by NetworkWorld. My favorite: "Articulate your dream job".

I think it was all about lifelong learning, and constantly adding or improving skill sets. My boss back in my early 20s inculcated that in me, and it's served me well ever since.

A few years ago I went to lunch with a friend. It was a Wednesday, and I said something along the lines of, "Thank goodness it's Wednesday. Only two more days left of this." He looked at me, and after a moment said, "Two more days? You mean thirty more years." I felt as if someone had thrown a glass of cold water in my face. I transferred all of my cases to other lawyers and left the practice a couple of months later. I don't make as much money as I used to, but I am not miserable every day. I count that as a win. I still have a $1200 per month student loan bill to remind me of my mistake though.
