How can I learn how to build apps?

I was thinking of teaching myself how to build mobile apps. I was going to try iOS at first, but I don't want to have to learn Objective-C from scratch just to get started. Since Android apps use Java, which I am at least familiar with (although far from accomplished) I though that would be much easier out of the gates. Are there any good online sources that guide you through app development?

Hi,

To learn building apps in Android, you need to have an understanding of OOPs concept of Core Java. After you have done the same, you can learn Android online from training sites.

I think Treehouse is great. They have a lot of resources available to users, and are a good place to start. It isn't free, but I do think that you get what you pay for with Treehouse.

Codecademy might be of interest to you as well to hone your Java skills, plus as far as I know Codecademy is free.

I know this sounds like a public service announcement, but you might also want to check your local library. I prefer having a book for reference most of the time.
