From what the leaked reports show, the Bulldozer series of CPUs will be very competitive with the I-series in terms of price and performance. First benchmarks of the Zambezi-FX chip show 6 and 8 core CPUs running about 30% faster than Intel’s Sandybridge-based i7 chips. The higher-end AMD Interlagos (Bulldozer) chip will have 12-16 cores and will be released later in the year and compete against Intel’s server chips. Intel is expected to drop their prices slightly to stay competitive.
