How did Google's Panda update affect your business?

Now that we have had a chance to measure the after-effects of Google's most recent update to its algorithm, how has it affected your business? The purpose of the last update was to improve quality, giving less rank to low-quality or only marginally useful web pages. Consequently, those using "spinners" and other types of SEO tools and article generators have probably been hit the hardest, while those using more professional, original copy in their sites have probably seen some benefit. To be sure, it has caused some serious concern and re-evaluation of business models among companies like Demand Media. But even if you're not a "content mill," every business has a web site, and you want it to rank as high as possible. Has the update had an impact on how much traffic you're getting, and how have you changed your web site to accommodate those changes?

I run my own blogs and I've been very irritated by scraper sites and other parasites. So I'm happy that Google finally did something about it. I ran into this article that covers some of the effects of Panda on SEO that you might find interesting. Let's hope that Google stays on top of things.

As a web publisher, I've found to my surprise and delight that my clicks have actually gone up since the Panda update. The premium rates I'm paying for copywriting seem to be paying off now. My only concern is, now that I'm seeing an increase in traffic to my sites, will that be maintained? It seems as though all it takes is one small change in the Google algorithm to dramatically change how much search traffic a business can find. On my end, it's all about fresh copy on a continuing basis, good quality, using keywords and key phrases in just the right amount (not too many, not too few). Since the update we've been reviewing our traffic on a per-page basis, and putting in fresh copy on those pages that aren't getting the hits.
