Is it possible to burn 50GB video into a DVD?

I don't have a Blu-ray disc player so I am not considering burning a Blu-ray disc. I have some FHD videos with size around 50GB combined. I would like to store them into one DVD but not sure if it is possible.
Are the 17GB DVDs retired yet? If not, I might be able to use DVDs to store the videos.
You run into an issue with the storage capacity of the discs. A Blu-ray disc holds 50GB generally (more with the much less common 3 or 4 layer discs), but a DVD will only hold about 5GB (8.5 - 8.7 with dual layer). The only way it possible is to compress the files, but you are going to lose a lot of quality. Probably the best you could do is convert them from FHD to MPEG-4 using converter software. I'm not sure even then if you could get it down to 5GB and retain anything better than potato video quality.
