How to reformat an external drive using a Chromebook?

I need to reformat a Toshiba 1TB external HDD to FAT32 format, and I don’t have access to my Windows PC at the moment. I do have a Chromebook with me, though. Can I reformat an external drive with a Chromebook?
You can format the drive using the native interface. Connect the drive to your Chromebook. Launch the Files app. Right click on the drive in the left side panel, and select Format device. Click OK to continue. The drive will be formatted to FAT32. You'll receive a notification popup once formatting has completed.
