How to search for an apps without scrolling through them all on an Android 6.0 Marshmallow phone?

I have a Nexus 6 running Android 6.0.1. I have plenty of onboard storage, so I am not shy about downloading apps. The downside is that I have to scroll through a ton of apps sometimes to find the one I want. Is there a way to search for a specific app by name instead of scrolling through all of them?
Two ways I can think of....

1. Since you are using 6.0 Marshmallow, you can start typing the name of the App you are looking for into the Google search bar that is now at the top of every screen. The second area of the response list will show icons for any apps that match. Click the icon and boom the app is launched.

2. I just started using Smart App Manager (SAM) from the Play Store.


It is free (with ads) and offers many useful features, including app search. One advantage I have found for SAM over the Google search bar is that SAM will match a string of letters that occur anywhere in an app's name, not just the beginning like Google.
