How will the Google v. Oracle court battle impact Android users?

Oracle is suing Google for $9 BILLION dollars, claiming that Google’s use of Java APIs in Android violated its copyrights. $9 billion dollars is a lot of money even for Google, but what effect would a Google loss have on Android users? I like Android for number of reasons, but one of them is that I can get a device that is as good as an iPhone (actually better, in my opinion) for significantly less money. If Oracle wins, will consumers have to pay more for Android smartphones and tablets?
You will almost certainly not have to pay more for Android devices if Oracle wins. While the nearly $9 billion Oracle is seeking is obviously a lot of cheddar, it is a one time payment and Google had about $75 billion in revenue in 2015. It could have an impact on Android developers though, if they have to pay Oracle to license APIs for apps.
