Well, it's hard to add much to Jimlynch's answer! That pretty much sums it up. The thing about America is freedom of speech means freedom of offensive speech too. Sure, you can't yell fire in a crowded theater, but repugnant groups like the KKK and Nazis have the right to say what they wish. The idea is that in the marketplace of ideas, the stupid ones don't fly. Most of us, hopefully, don't need a "terrorist" flag to identify statements that promote stupidity. And what is the definition of Lieberman's "terrorist" anyway? It might not be mine. If there was a terrorist button added to blogger, how long do you think it would take for people to just go through and click EVERY blog as terrorist? I'm betting no more than a couple of days. If that. The thing that bothers me beyond hostility to freedom of speech is the constant fear mongering - some politicians seem to desire nothing more than a nation of sheep cowering in fear, hoping our wise older statesmen like Joe Lieberman can keep us safe. Pffffttt!
