How to fix issue with Canon printer that won't connect to the internet?

My Canon PIXIMA MG5420 will not connect to the internet.

Most of the time this issue happens because of following reasons. so you need to check these.
1. wifi password and configuration.
2. driver installation problem.

Printer is not connecting it may cause many reason.

First you should check your wireless password and network name from router or modem.Try to connect and change your security type to wep.
Have you been able to connect to the printer from your Mac? Was the printer previously able to connect? Are you getting any errors? Also try restarting the printer, and reconfiguring it.

Yes, when entering the WPS key it said something like "failed to connect printer to the network.
"Also try restarting the printer, and reconfiguring it."
Did that, nothing happened.
Have you tried restarting your router?
Also try to program in a static IP to the printer settings.
Another thing to try is connecting the printer to the laptop through USB and updating firmware on the printer.
