What does Google’s Safe Browsing feature in the Chrome browser do that makes browsing safe?
Google Safe Browsing is a service provided by Google that provides lists of URLs for web resources that contain malware or phishing content.The Google Chrome, Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox web browsers use the lists from the Google Safe Browsing service for checking pages against potential threat.
Safe Browsing identifies and warns you that you are about to enter a dangers site, allowing you to decline whether you want to continue or close the site. Sites you'll typically get a warning about would contain malware, or be a spoof site.
