What are the minimum system requirements to run Ubuntu?

I have an unused laptop that is pretty old, but I was thinking that it might be good to use to try out Ubuntu. It’s a few years old, with an Intel Celeron 900 2.2 GHz CPU and 4GB of RAM. Will that be enough to run Ubuntu?
You shouldn't have any problems running Ubuntu on the above configuration, so long as you have enough hard drive space. Here are the recommended minimum requirements:
1.700 MHz processor (about Intel Celeron or better)
2.512 MiB RAM (system memory)
3.5 GB of hard-drive space (or USB stick, memory card or external drive but see LiveCD for an alternative approach)
4.VGA capable of 1024x768 screen resolution
5.Either a CD/DVD drive or a USB port for the installer media
6.Internet access is helpful
