How does the $5 Raspberry Pi Zero differ from the older versions of the Raspberry Pi?

Honestly, it is amazing that you can get anything for $5, let alone a computer. What did they have to cut out to get it down to this price point?
Its nice that at this price point most can afford to experiment with programing and building out new ideas using the Pi Zero. The cuts however are in less RAM, loss of Ethernet port, composite video ports, camera and display connectors. All of the components on the board are now printed on side, making it cheaper as well.
