Career options for .Net developer looking for a change

Hello, I need some advice. I have a total of 12+ yrs exp, of which 10+ in .NET technologies (lead/developer) and (past) 2+ exp in BI/DW area working on technologies like teradata, netezza, informatica, datastage, unix. I didn't have much difficulty switching to the BI/DW technologies, and I'd like to know what kind of opportunities are open to me with this skill set? Should I continue to be in the BI/DW space or switch back to .NET? Thanks.
It sounds like you have a lot of experience and there should be any number of opportunities available to you. With your .Net experience you should be able to find a good job many places across the world. There is always demand for .Net devs and I doubt that's going to change anytime soon. The downside is that while it is a good paying field, the pay isn't as high as some others.

Since you already have experience in SAP BI/DW, you know more about that career arc than I do. Business Intelligence has been a rapidly developing area for the past decade or so. A problem many people face is getting their first gig after getting their certs, but you've already crossed that bridge, and your experience should make you marketable. You might be able to get a higher salary working in BI/DW than .Net, but probably not dramatically higher.

If it was me, I would ask myself (1) which I enjoyed more, and (2) what companies that I want to work for are hiring in each position. I don't think there is really a wrong decision you can make here. You have experience in two areas that are in demand and more choices than the majority of people in the job market.
