How to opt out from Spotify having access to all of your photos and contacts?

So, apparently the new Spotify TOS requires you to grant access to all of your contacts’ information as well as your photos. I’m about ready to just delete the app and move on, but is there a way to prevent sharing what I consider very private information with Spotify while continuing to use the service?
There isn't much you can do. Accept that Spotify can collect basically everything they want about you, your contacts, etc., or stop using the service.

To be fair, engadget has an article that lays out an argument that Spotify's collection of your data isn't as nefarious as it sounds. Maybe they are right, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it....or accept it. I have other streaming music options (Rdio, Pandora, Play Music, etc.) that don't collect all of that personal data, and you probably do too.

You can check out the engadget article for yourself to see if you agree with them.
