Single sign on is great for the apps that already come pre-coded as part of the product that you eventually will use. But what about if you want to protect your own home-grown apps with stronger authentication? Several of the products have toolkits that allow you to incorporate programs written in various languages into their SSO protective policies. OneLogin has probably the largest collection of different SAML-based toolkits to enable your own apps. They support .Net, Java, Php, Python and Ruby programming languages, as well as a number of content management tools such as Drupal, WordPress, Joomla and Atlassian’s JIRA.
