What happens to my data in Google Drive when my free 100GB offer expires?

I got 100GB of free cloud storage on Google Drive when I bought a Chromebook, but the free storage offer is only good for two years. I assume it reverts back to the standard 15GB of storage, but what happens to the files that I have stored that exceed the 15GB limit?
Sveta has a good answer for this, but here's a link to the Google Drive support page in case you need it:

From what I’ve seen online the Google answer is “All of your files will remain in Drive and you can access them whenever you want. You won’t be able to add additional files unless you buy more storage at www.google.com/settings/storage.“
