What is the maximum safe CPU temperature during sustained use under a heavy load?

An architect colleague has measured his CPU temp while using AutoCAD and Revit at work and sees sustained temperatures around 70C. Is this acceptable, or is it too high for long periods of continuous use?
I don’t know what the CPU is in this PC, but 70C should be acceptable. It’s on the high side of ok for some CPUs, but still ok. You might find this article on Intel CPU temperatures of interest: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html

You (or he) should make sure the vents are clean and free from dust. I’m assuming this is a desktop, so it would also be easy to open it up for cleaning as well.
