How much of penalty in retrieval time if I go with Glacier instead S3?

When looking at storage performance, how much do I give up in retrieval time if I go with Glacier instead of S3?
Brutus has a good answer, but here's a link to Amazon's Glacier page in case you want additional information:
Glacier is going to be a cheaper option that you can choose as an S3 user, but retrieval is going to take a lot longer.

Here is a question from the Glacier FAQs on retrieval on point:

Q: How can I retrieve data from the service?

You can download data directly from the service using the service’s REST API. When you make a request to retrieve data from Glacier, you initiate a retrieval job. Once the retrieval job completes, your data will be available to download for 24 hours. Retrieval jobs typically complete within 3-5 hours.
