How does Chip compare to Raspberry Pi?

Raspberry Pi has some potential competition in the low-cost microcomputer sector with the Chip. I don’t know much about it other than it will cost less than $10 compared to the “stratospheric” $35 cost of the Raspberry Pi. How does the Chip stack up to it, though. Is it comparable, or does it have a fraction of the capabilities to match its fraction of the price?
Chip (Microchip, micro controller...) is just a basic processor that do simple jobs. The Raspberry Pi is a Single board computer, it can process much more things than a micro controller.
