How to transfer files from ipad to computer?

You can use cloud storage like Dropbox or iCloud. The Dropbox app on both your iPad and PC, which will give you 2GB of space for free. Or you can use some iPad transfer like AnyTrans, CopyTrans, etc. This post helps.
For purchased files, you can transfer them from iPad to computer via iTunes.

Step 1. Connect your device to the computer. Wait for its icon to appear in iTunes.

Step 2. Go to File > Devices. If you're using iTunes for Windows and can't see the menu bar, learn how to turn on iTunes menus in Windows.

Step 3. Choose Transfer Purchases from [device name].

probably need to install iTunes
When you say computer, do you mean Mac or PC? Macgo iphone explorer has Mac&Win version for transfering files between iOS devices and computers.
UrdnotWrex has a good answer already, but here's a link to the iPad support page in case you need it later:
When you say computer, do you mean Mac or PC? If you mean PC, which version of Windows? What generation iPad?

Assuming that you are using a Mac, since you are using an iPad, just use AirDrop. This is also assuming that your iPad is a 4th gen iPad. Some more information about your iPad and computer would make this easier to answer. In any case, AirDrop is an Apple feature intended for exactly this purpose, and is very easy to use. Another option would be to simply use your iCloud account (particularly if you are using a 3rd gen iPad or older).

Here is a link to guide you through using AirDrop if necessary:
