How to handle tough feedback at work?

A reader just asked me on how to address some negative feedback they received on a project. I have heard this question asked a lot over the years, and I wanted to ask readers here to chime in. Have you received negative feedback at work, and how have you handled it?
Thanks for the input!
The WSJ has a thread on the same topic:

This was an interesting perspective:

Always look at feedback as a gift. A gift to receive and a gift to give. Let's not water it down too much.
I think negative feedback can be quite useful. Take what you can from it, and do what you can to improve your work. Negative feedback can also be very useful constructive criticism that can benefit you greatly if you take advantage of it.
