How to open stuck DVD drive?

I have a desktop with a stuck DVD drive, where you can hear it trying to open the drawer but it catches and stays closed. I remember having this happen about 15 years ago and there was a way to open it, but for the life of me I can’t remember how to do it. Anyone with better memory than me know how to open a stuck optical drive?
Its very simple to open stuck DVD drive. There is very small hole at front of hard drive.Use pin or paper clip and press that tightly. Now panel of DVD drive would open easily.
How to open a jammed CD/DVD drive

"Drive release mechanisms can be very sensitive to the condition of your discs, so they sometimes get stuck. If the open button doesn't respond, you must use this trick.

What you need:
1. A stuck cd/dvd drive
2. A paper clip"
I actually ran into this problem recently. There is a little hole on the right side of the drive tray door (at least that’s where it was on mine, it might be in a different location on different optical drives). Get a paper clip and bend it so it is straight, hit eject/open and then insert the paperclip in the little hole and gently push. It should release the drive door and let it open. Depending on what is causing the problem, you might have to manually repeat this a few times to “walk” the drive tray far enough out to grab it by hand. In my case, it was just hanging, so as soon as I pushed with the paperclip, it opened normally.
