How to remove icon from quick settings in Android 5.0 Lollipop?

After using the hotspot function once, a feature that I almost never use, the icon for it has stayed in the quick settings dropdown. For me, this is completely unnecessary and I’d like to remove it. How can I get rid of the icon?

The ones that are added (not the built-in quick settings) will disappear on their own if you don’t use that function again for a month. I suppose you could also manually set the date back a month and a day, then toggle the settings on/off for the icon you want gone. Reset the date to the present and it should be gone. MichaelConnell, Thank you. I accidentally hit the Invert Colors button and it was added to the drop down menu... I followed your advice... Problem solved :)

Glad it worked for you. I like 5.0 for the most part, but there are some quirks that are a little funky.
