Is there a good way to monitor my battery performance on my laptop?

I've got a Windows 7 laptop and I was wondering if there's a way I can tell if my battery is working right or not. It doesn't seem to work as well unplugged from the wall as it did a year ago.

Windows 7 includes a hidden that will examine your laptop's energy use and make recommendations on how to improve it.

Try this:

1. Type cmd in the search box, and when the cmd icon appears, right-click it and select "Run as administrator."

2. At the command line, type in the following:

powercfg -energy -output \battery\Energy_Report.html

3. For about a minute, Windows 7 will examine the behavior of your laptop. It will then analyze it and create a report in HTML format in the battery folder. Double-click the file, and you'll get a report which will suggest ways to improve your laptop's power performance.
