How to use ping to determine distance between computers?

Can I use ping to figure out the distance between my PC and the PC that I’ve pinged? It seems like it should be relatively simple math since we know the speed (of light, I assume) and the time. Anyone tried this?

Pingdom has a tool that might be useful to you:

Yes, you can do a simple time, rate, distance calculation based on the speed of light. However, there are a lot of variables that come into play that make this calculation pretty inaccurate. First of all, the signal won’t actually travel at the speed of light. Fiber optic slows down the signal by about 30%, and there are additional bottlenecks such as switches, repeaters, etc. Here is an article that goes into greater detail.

There is no any command for it. you can't do this.
