How will Windows 7 reaching Extended Support status impact users?

Microsoft has announced that Windows 7 will enter Extended Support status in January 2015. How will this affect Windows 7 users? Will there be any changes as to the frequency of patches and updates?

It’s unlikely that you will notice any difference. However, extended support does mean that Microsoft will end non-security hotfix support for commercial users, unless you purchase an agreement within 90 days of the end of mainstream support. Also warranty claims and no-charge incident reports will be lost.
