How do I make cardboard VR goggles like Google has at I/O for my Android phone?

I thought it was a joke when I first saw a photo or VR goggles that are made out of cardboard, but apparently it’s a real thing, and actually uses the gyroscope on the phone and splits your field of vision for a cut-rate VR experience. I’m ready to order a pizza and start cutting, but some instructions would make it much easier.

I think I linked a great vendor for premades about a month ago, but their domain name has changed for any that are still interested. For those looking for affordable, reliable, and durable premades for your virtual reality, check out www.imcardboard.com

Well, you don't have to order any pizza's to start cutting! Heck, you don't even have to cut this stuff yourself! Go to www.googlecardboard.com where they sell pre-cuts for cheaper prices than ordering a pizza! Sure, you wont get any food for it, but you'll get some of the best crafted cardboard for your google experience.

Looks like you've already gotten some good answers. The Register has an article about Google's cardboard VR that you might find interesting:

Another company called knoxlabs is offering a kit for $19 without an NFC tag and $24 with one. They do say that you should be prepared to wait 4-7 weeks for it. http://www.knoxlabs.com/

I found the instructions and was going to make them, but it looked like a bit more of a craft project than I wanted to commit too. Luckily, if you are lazy, you can order a precut kit from DODOcase...which I just did. It costs about $25 with shipping.

If you are feeling crafty, here are the instructions:  https://gweb-cardboard.appspot.com/downloads/cardboard_design_v1.0.zip
