When will Skype Translator be available to the public?

It's not too often I get one of those "I am living in an age of miracles" feelings, but when I learned that Skype has developed technology that translates multilingual conversations in near real-real time I certainly did. This was literally the stuff of science fiction just a few years ago, as any Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fan will be able to point out. How soon can I have my very own Babel fish in the form of Skype Translator?
