How can I tell what kind of RAM is in my PC?

I might need a RAM upgrade because my computer is slow. how do I check to see what kind of RAM I need?

CPU-Z is also another tool that will gather information about your system, including your RAM. It's freeware so it won't cost anything to use it.

I particularly like a free RAM testing tool available from Crucial, who sells high-quality RAM at reasonable prices.

the online tool may request that you download some files to your computer. it runs on Windows and OS X.
