How to write musical notation in Google Docs (or Google Drive)?

Is there a way to write musical notation when using Google Docs, the word processor component of Google Drive?

Do you have a music writing staff that I would be able to put in my own notation for four part singing and guitar?

There are a lot of software options out there, assuming that you are not going to try to do it using Docs.
Sibelius - http://www.sibelius.com/home/index_flash.html
Cresencdo (free) - http://www.nch.com.au/notation/

I can’t really vouch for either. I play a little guitar, but I’m nowhere near good enough to write and compose my own stuff. If you are going to use tab, there are programs designed for that, or you might want to give VexTab that was mentioned earlier a try.

VexTab Music Notation
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/vextab-music-notation/pjggkphn...

"Add music notation, drum notation, and guitar tab to your documents using the VexTab language.

This Docs add-on lets you render standard music notation, drum notation, and guitar tablature in your documents using the VexTab notation language."

I don’t think there is a way to do it built into Docs. There is an add-on called VexTab that has ok reviews. It also support tabliture, which might be of interest to you judging from your avatar. Open a Doc file, and click the “add-on” tab at the top of the page, then select “get add-ons”. You can search for it using the search box in the top right of the pop-up.
