What is a good substitute for the Google Keyword Tool?

I’ve been trying to find a good replacement for Google Keyword Tool. I know that I could use Keyword Planner, which has Keyword Tool’s functionality, but I don’t have an AdWords account and really don’t want to pay for one. Are there any other option that work well? Free is preferred. Thanks!

8 Alternatives to Google Keyword Tool

"Recently Google decided to more tightly integrate the tool with AdWords and rebranded it as AdWords Planner. In addition to requiring users to log in to an AdWords account to access the tool a great deal of useful research functionality has been stripped away.

Below are four free alternatives and four paid alternatives that I suggest business owners and marketers consider adding to their resource and research routines."

I don’t know of anything that is quite as useful as Keyword Tool, but there are a few free alternatives that may help fill in the gap, especially if used in combination:

Bing Keyword Tool

Ubersuggest

Google Trends
